– Dark Souls Remastered has been officially revealed

I mean, we all knew this was coming, right? Well it’s finally been officially revealed – Dark Souls is getting a remastered release and it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch (as well as other platforms)! Check out the reveal trailer before:

“Developed by FromSoftware, Dark Souls: Remastered allows players to explore the twisted ancient land of Lordran in the first title of the critically acclaimed action role-playing series like never before. Experience the rich world of Dark Souls in upscaled 4K resolution with 60FPS when playing on a PlayStation 4 Pro system, Xbox One X, and PC.  Also, 1080p resolution with 30FPS is available when playing the game on Nintendo Switch with its TV mode. Dark Souls: Remastered is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on May 25th 2018.

– The World Ends With You –Final Remix- is coming to the Nintendo Switch

This is actually a really pleasant surprise, especially since the original release was a game I really wanted to play but never actually got around to. After originally releasing on the Nintendo DS, The World Ends With You is getting a remastered release with additional content on the Nintendo Switch in the form of The World Ends With You -Final Remix-. – Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is getting a Nintendo Switch release this May

I (regretfully) skipped on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze when it released on the Nintendo Wii U, so I’m pretty excited to see that it’s officially coming to the Nintendo Switch. You can check out some gameplay in the reveal trailer below:

“Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong return for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Nintendo Switch. This title includes all the fun and challenge of the original game, plus a brand-new beginner-friendly mode that lets new and novice players play as groovy surfing simian Funky Kong. Funky Kong can double jump, hover, perform infinite rolls and even perform infinite underwater corkscrews. Thanks to his sturdy surfboard, even spikes can’t slow him down.”

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 4th 2018.

– Want more Donkey Kong? He’s going to be a playable character in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle’s upcoming DLC

That’s not the only Donkey Kong action Nintendo Switch gamers are getting this year though – He’s also coming to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle via the upcoming DLC! You can check him out in the trailer below:

“Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle introduces a new playable hero, Donkey Kong, in upcoming downloadable content. Donkey Kong will be featured in an original story, taking place in a new world. Donkey Kong will be exclusive to this brand new adventure, planned for release in spring 2018.”

– Super Mario Odyssey is getting new game modes in an upcoming free update

I’m sure everyone is ready for even more Mario Odyssey content by now (I know I am), so how about a new game mode that features Luigi?! You can find out more about the free upcoming ‘Balloon World’ content in the trailer below:

“Players will be able to download a free update for Super Mario Odyssey in February that adds a new mini-game called Balloon World. Once players download the free update and complete the main story, Balloon World will become available. To get started, players just have to talk to Luigi. In “Hide It” mode, players have a limited amount of time to hide a balloon. In “Find It” mode, players have the same period of time to locate balloons hidden by other players from around the world. Players can move up in rank by finding hidden balloons and becoming expert hiders. The free update will be released in February with new Snapshot Mode filters and new outfits.”

– Mario Tennis Aces hits the Nintendo Switch this Spring

I’m a sucker for a good tennis game, so I’m super psyched for this – Nintendo have revealed Mario Tennis Aces for the Nintendo Switch. Check it out in the trailer below:

“Mario Tennis Aces will bring a new level of skill and competition to Nintendo Switch when it launches on Nintendo Switch. Mario steps onto the court in classy tennis garb for intense rallies against a variety of characters in full-blown tennis battles. New wrinkles in tennis gameplay will challenge your ability to read an opponent’s position and stroke to determine which shot will give you the advantage. And this time the game adds the first story mode since the Mario Tennis game on Game Boy Advance, offering a new flavour of tennis gameplay, with a variety of missions, boss battles and more. – Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition brings Zelda-based musou combat to the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo seem quite happy to bring Wii U releases to the Nintendo Switch, and rightfully so – it’s got a ton of great releases that maybe didn’t get the attention they deserved. Along with the aforementioned Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition is one of the latest games to make the transition to Nintendo’s newest console. Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition brings with it all the content from both the Wii U and 3DS releases as well as some all new content based around Breath of the Wild – there’s plenty to be excited for.

– Zoink Games stunning platform adventure Fe launches next month

After getting a big reveal at EA’s E3 conference back in 2016, Fe has finally got an official release date – it’s launching on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on February 16th 2018. Check out the game’s stunning look in the trailer down below:

– 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Rogue is getting a remastered release consoles

I feel like Assassin’s Creed: Rogue didn’t get that much attention thanks to the fact that it only released on last-gen consoles, but that seems to be getting rectified thanks now thanks to its upcoming remastered release on PC and consoles. Check out the announcement trailer below:

“Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered will include all of the downloadable content from the original game: two bonus missions (The Armor of Sir Gunn Quest and The Siege of Fort de Sable), as well as the Master Templar and Explorer packs, which contain weapons, customisation items and special outfits, including Bayek’s legacy outfit from Assassin’s Creed Origins.

– Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age hits PC next month

PC gamers are getting spoilt as far as Final Fantasy is concerned this year – Square Enix have revealed today that they’re bringing Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age to PC next month.

– ‘Dodgebrawl’ battler Strikers Edge launches on the PS4 and PC later this month

This game has been on my radar for quite some time (we actually spoke to the developers about it a while back) so I’m glad to see it’s finally getting released. You can check out the ‘dodgebrawl’ action of Strikers Edge in the trailer below:

– The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human hits PS4 and Xbox One next week

So I loved this game when it came out on PC in 2016 (check out our review here), so it’s great to see that the game is finally making its way to consoles – best of all, it’s coming next week. You can see the game in action in the trailer below:

– tinyBuild Games announce multiplayer planet colonization FPS Outpost Zero

tinyBuild Games have announced their first game of 2018 – Outpost Zero. You can check out the announcement trailer below:

“A Sci-Fi First Person Shooter with Base Building, Resource Management, and elements of Survival. You play as an AI Overseer sent from Earth entrusted with the future of humankind, and tasked with establishing a habitat that can sustain human life on a mysterious alien world.”
