Check out what gaming news and trailers stood out for us in our round-up of January 30th 2018, including the release of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT and Wolfenstein II’s latest DLC, the release date reveal of Extinction, and a new trailer for Yakuza 6.

– Battle as your favourite heroes and villains in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT from today on the PlayStation 4

Platform(s): PlayStation 4
Release Date: 30/01/2018

I’ve been waiting for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT to release for a long time (well… since the last PSP game), so I’m excited to see that it’s finally out. Let’s face it – we’re all going to be maining Cloud, right?

– Wolfenstein II’s latest DLC ‘The Diaries of Agent Silent Death’ is out now

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: 30/01/2018

I adored Wolfenstein II when it released towards the end of last year, so I’m glad to see that we’re still getting new content for the game. ‘The Diaries of Agent Silent Death’ releases today, and sees you killing Nazis in the offices of a film studio.

– Battle giant beasts in Extinction when it releases this April

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: 10/04/2018

I’m quite the fan of smashing apart a giant beast now and then, so naturally Extinction seems to tick all the right boxes for me. It’s not long until it releases either, with the developers confirming today that we’ll get to play the game on April 10th 2018. That’s not too long to wait…

– Yakuza 6: The Song of Life gets a new trailer showing off the ‘Clan Creator’

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: 10/04/2018

The Yakuza series has always been known for giving the player a ton of different activities to take part in, and it looks like Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be no different. The latest activity to be shown off is the ‘Clan Creator’, which you can check out in today’s brand new trailer – believe me, it looks epic (and very strategic).

– Take part in some ‘medieval dodgeball’ from today in Strikers Edge

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, PC
Release Date: 30/01/2018

Strikers Edge has been on my radar for some time (I got a chance to interview the developers a while back), so it’s great to see that it has finally released. I got absolutely addicted to Disc Jam when that released last year, and I think this is going to provide a lot of similar action – definitely a title that’s worth checking out.

– Upcoming FPS Insurgency: Sandstorm gets a new teaser trailer

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: 2018

I’ve never played Insurgency before, but the newly released (and action-packed) teaser trailer for Insurgency: Sandstorm has certainly got me interested. It’s coming to consoles for the first time too, which is always a plus in my eyes.

– This is the Police 2 is officially revealed, coming to PC and consoles

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC
Release Date: 2018

This is the Police was one of those games that did something so intriguing and fresh that I couldn’t help but to lose a ton of hours playing it, so I’m all for a sequel. You’re not playing a retiring Police Chief this time around, but rather a fresh-faced Sheriff who faces a variety of different challenges – sounds interesting.

– 2D run-and-gun action title Bleed 2 hits the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next week

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, Xbox One,  PC
Release Date: 7/02/2018 (PlayStation 4), 9/02/2018 (Xbox One) Out Now (PC)

They haven’t long brought the original game to consoles, but Digerati Distribution are back one again with the follow-up Bleed 2. It’s an intense run-and-gun action title that got a lot of praise when it originally released on PC, so console gamers might want to check it out.

– Sling Ming brings its aerobic platforming action to the Nintendo Switch this Spring

Platform(s): Nintendo Switch, PC
Release Date: Spring 2018 (Nintendo Switch) Out Now (PC)

Hey, I’m all for new games to play on the Nintendo Switch, especially when they look as charming as this. I love myself a good platformer and I also just so happen to love swinging (wa-hey), and Sling Ming looks like it could scratch both itches when it comes to the Nintendo Switch this Spring.

– Cross-platform adventure title Tick Tock: A Tale for Two hits PCs and mobile devices later this year

Platform(s): PC, Mobile Devices
Release Date: Q4 2018

So this looks intriguing. Other Tales Interactive have revealed Tick Tock: A Tale for Two, a co-operative puzzle game where players must work together on different screens, be it mobile devices or PC. That’s certainly a unique hook and definitely makes for a different kind of co-operative experience – this is one to keep an eye on.
