Check out our gaming news round-up for January 5th 2018, including a new trailer for Monster Hunter: World, details of new character for Dragon Ball FighterZ, and new gameplay footage for one of Injustice 2’s DLC characters.

– Monster Hunter: World gets a new trailer that shows off the Elder Dragons

It’s not long until gamers will be able to get gripped into Monster Hunter: World, but to help build up the excitement Capcom have released a brand new trailer for the game that shows off the mighty Elder Dragons. Check it out below:

“The steel dragon Kushala Daora is a beast with a body covered in metal plates and has the power to keep hunters at bay by generating wind storms around itself. The flame king dragon Teostra is a brutal fiend that spits blazing fire and any hunter who faces this fierce and deadly monster is in danger of being engulfed in a hellish inferno. Another monster introduced in the trailer is Dodogama, a rock-eating wyvern that possesses a unique saliva that causes rock to become explosive, a hazardous mix it will spit at its foes to warn off attackers.”

It’s also been confirmed that the game will be getting a new beta that runs between January 19th and January 22nd on the PlayStation 4. If you want to try out the game one more time before buying, there’s your chance.

Monster Hunter World launches on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26th 2018, with a PC release coming later this Autumn.

– Dragon Ball FighterZ adds some Super Characters to the roster

As if the roster wasn’t big enough already, Bandai Namco confirmed today that Beerus, Hit, and Goku Black are joining the roster. They also released a new trailer showing off SSGSS Vegeta, which you can check out below:

“Beerus specialises in attacks without any blind spots. With his super move ‘God of Destruction’s Judgement’, he will no doubt demonstrate his power. Hit is able to release the ‘Death Blow’ by accumulating time which will surely disrupt the fight! Goku Black is really good at fighting from a long distance especially with the help of Zamasu on some attacks!”

Dragon Ball FighterZ is coming to the PlayStation 4, xbox One, and PC on January 26th 2018.

– Injustice 2 shows off the upcoming DLC character Enchantress in a new gameplay trailer

Despite Suicide Squad not really hitting it off with critics when it hit theatres, there’s no doubting that Enchantress was one of the coolest characters in the movie. It’s not long until Injustice 2 players will be able to play as her and with her release not too far away, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment have released a new gameplay trailer showing off her skills:

“The all-too ordinary life of June Moone ended the day she was possessed by the Enchantress, a demonic sorceress with aspirations of world domination. Today, she fights for her very soul, struggling to harness the Enchantress’ magic for good. If she fails, the Enchantress will consume her – and our world won’t be far behind.”

Owners of the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition, Ultimate Pack, or Fighter Pack 3 will be able to start playing as Enchantress on January 9th.

– Monster Energy Supercross gets a new developer diary video showing off the game’s visuals

I might know nothing about Supercross, but I still appreciate the all-out action the racing offers. So do developers Milestone, so they’ve released a new developer diary video to show off how good it all looks in-game. Check it out below:

Monster Energy Supercross is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on February 13th 2018.

– The Vanishing of Ethan Carter makes its way to the Xbox One on January 19th with an all-new game mode

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter has been one of my favourite ‘walking simulator’/mystery adventures over the year, so it’s great to see it’s coming to the Xbox One. It brings with it 4K support for those lucky Xbox One X owners as well as an all-new game mode, so it may be worth checking out again if you’ve already played it before.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

“Originally released on PC in 2014, the game has since made a name for itself as an artistic wonder, winning BAFTA’s Game Innovation award for its use of advanced photogrammetry tech to create digital assets with unparalleled visual quality using 3D scans of real-life objects. Now, leveraging the power of Xbox One X, The Astronauts has included support for full 4K HD resolution, providing players with their clearest look at the game’s world yet!

In addition to offering everything from the game’s PC and PS4 versions, the Xbox One release of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter also includes a brand new Free Roam mode. As one of the most requested features among fans, Free Roam mode allows players to take in the sights and sounds of Red Creek Valley on their own terms, without a trace of murder.”

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is coming to the Xbox One on January 19th – it’s also available right now on the PlayStation 4 and PC.
