Check out our gaming news round-up for April 8th 2022, where we condense some of the day’s top stories into a few sentences. These round-ups focus more on releases, reveals, and release dates as opposed to some of the deeper stories of the biz, so you can expect to see a few omissions. What we can promise you is some cool games – check them out below.

Halo Infinite Season 2 is launching on May 3rd

Microsoft have confirmed that Season 2 of Halo Infinite (titled ‘Lone Wolves’) will be launching on May 3rd, bringing with it new maps, moves, events, and a new Battle Pass to unlock additional content.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is coming to the PlayStation 4 this Summer

After launching on the Nintendo Switch and PC back in 2021, Marvelous Europe have confirmed that their farming sim Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 this Summer in both physical and digital forms. I’ve always been a fan of the Story of Seasons series, so it’s neat to see that it’s coming to more platforms.

The psychological-horror title MADiSON is launching on PC and consoles on June 24th

Publisher Perp Games have revealed that MADiSON will be coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on June 24th, with a Nintendo Switch version due to follow shortly after – the Xbox logo features in the trailer too, so it looks like it’ll be hitting Microsoft’s console too. I love horror games and this looks especially creepy, so I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on it.

Orcs Must Die! 3’s ‘Tipping the Scales’ DLC is now available

The DLC includes a new race to battle known as the Tuatara (which look more like lizards than orcs, but hey, who am I to judge?), five new scenarios to play through, four endless maps, and a new Hand Gatling weapon, as well as a few other extras.

The A500 Mini is out today, giving players a convenient (and small) Amiga fix

This will please old-school gamers. The A500 Mini, a smaller reimagining of Amiga’s 16-bit console that initially released in 1987, is out now, bringing with it twenty five classic games including Alien Breed 3D, Another World, California Games, Pinball Dreams, Simon the Sorcerer, The Chaos Engine, and Zool. It has a recommended retail price of £119.99 and is available on Amazon through this link.

Unplugged is getting a new song pack featuring Slayer, Muse, Rob Zombie, and Gossip next week

Developer Vertigo Games have confirmed that the ‘Riff Pack’ DLC consisting of the songs ‘South of Heaven’ by Slayer, ‘Won’t Stand Down’ by Muse, ‘Crow Killer Blues’ by Rob Zombie, and ‘Standing in the Way of Control’ by Gossip. It’s launching on April 14th and will be available for $5.99 (don’t have a UK equivalent yet, but I’m guessing it’ll be under a fiver).

Green Hell VR is available now on the Meta Quest 2

So this actually came out yesterday, but we missed it in our round-up so figured we’d include it now. Green Hell VR is out now on the Meta Quest 2, bringing with it the same jungle-based survival gameplay in the base game albeit on a slightly smaller scale. Build a shelter, find resources, and defeat deadly creatures including jaguars, crocodiles, and snakes… sounds cool, right?
