There are plenty of Cat Shines to collect across Bowser’s Fury, with one-hundred to find by completing the various tasks littered across the islands of Lake Lapcat… yeah, that’s a lot. How many do you actually need if you just want to hit the credits, though?

Well, you’ll only need to collect fifty Cat Shines in total in order to face off against the humungous Fury Bowser in the final battle, with the credits playing out after you beat him. That’s not too bad… it’s half of the total Cat Shines available in the game, which shouldn’t take most players more than three or four hours to gather.

Bowser's Fury

Still, there’s nothing quite like FULLY completing a Mario game, is there? Whilst fifty Cat Shines lets you see the ending, I implore players to fully immerse themselves in Bowser’s Fury’s wonderful world and collect every Cat Shine there is – there’s even one extra showdown for those who collect them all…

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is out now on the Nintendo Switch. Check it out on the Nintendo eShop through this link.
