Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, has today revealed on Twitter that Horizon: Zero Dawn has passed more than 20 million sales, making it one of the best-selling exclusives to hit the PlayStation 4. It is worth noting that those sales are spread across the PlayStation 4 and PC, but it’s still a very impressive figure – especially since Marvel’s Spider-Man is the PlayStation 4’s best selling console-only exclusive release at over 20 million sales. It makes you wonder how many copies THAT would sell when it inevitably comes to PC too…

Sony will undoubtedly be pleased with the news, especially since the sequel Horizon: Forbidden West is releasing next week. Will that pull in as impressive figures? Only time will tell, but given everything we’ve seen so far, I’m sure gamers are in for a special experience.

MORE ABOUT HORIZON: FORBIDDEN WEST

Join Aloy as she braves the Forbidden West – a majestic but dangerous frontier that conceals mysterious new threats.

Explore distant lands, fight bigger and more awe-inspiring machines, and encounter astonishing new tribes as you return to the far-future, post-apocalyptic world of Horizon.

The land is dying. Vicious storms and an unstoppable blight ravage the scattered remnants of humanity, while fearsome new machines prowl their borders. Life on Earth is hurtling towards another extinction, and no one knows why.

It’s up to Aloy to uncover the secrets behind these threats and restore order and balance to the world. Along the way, she must reunite with old friends, forge alliances with warring new factions and unravel the legacy of the ancient past – all the while trying to stay one step ahead of a seemingly undefeatable new enemy.

Horizon: Forbidden West is coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 18th 2022. Find out more on the official website through this link.
