The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, the remastered release of the previously Wii-exclusive adventure, is out now on the Nintendo Switch, bringing with it improved visuals, a new control scheme, and an array of quality of life enhancements. It has always been a divisive entry in the series, but currently sits at 81 on Metacritic with a couple of perfect scores – it’s clear Nintendo did something right then.

How far would you go to save a friend? Find out for yourself in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.

Hidden deep within each surface region lie sprawling dungeons packed with fearsome fiends, treasures and puzzles designed to test the bravest of heroes. Players can swing their sword and angle their slashes with intuitive motion controls that match their movements or – for the first time – take advantage of the newly-added button controls.

As the newest graduate of the Skyloft Knight Academy, Link sets out on his quest to save his childhood friend Zelda from the self-proclaimed demon lord Ghirahim. Entrusted to guide, Fi the spirit of the Goddess Sword accompanies him. Along the way you will also meet Link’s rival Groose and a mysterious warrior named Impa. Link can take to the skies on his trusty Loftwing and visit islands dotted on the horizon, then dive down to the fabled surface and trek through forests, deserts, volcanoes and more.
